Which Type of Braces is Right for Me?
Are you seriously considering having your teeth straightened? If you are, then you may feel a little overwhelmed about the number of modern orthodontic options that are available for people like you. It’s ok – you’re not the only one. At Marconi Dental Group we offer three different types of braces for our patients to choose from. Here’s what you need to know about each one:
Conventional orthodontics are extremely successful on patients of all ages, with varying types of tooth alignment concerns. Whether you have minor crowding or severe tooth displacement, traditional braces can successfully help you correct those concerns. In most cases, traditional braces are used when you need extreme accuracy.
Not only do traditional braces come in the standard metal brackets and wires – more aesthetic options are also available. Tooth colored brackets limit the impact that conventional braces have on the impact of your smile’s appearance.
Invisalign braces are the most “invisible” style of orthodontics available. Instead of using brackets and wires, Invisalign uses clear alignment trays to move your teeth with gentle pressure. Each set of alignment trays moves your teeth a small amount. We send the aligners home with you, so you can change them out every two weeks.
One of the biggest benefits of Invisalign (other than looking as if you aren’t even wearing braces) is that you can take them off during meals. There are literally no dietary restrictions, which means you can eat whatever you want. Oral hygiene is also very easy to manage since you can brush and floss normally without additional aids.
Invisalign isn’t as expensive as most people think it will be. In fact, it’s just a little bit more than traditional braces. If you have orthodontic coverage under your dental insurance, we can use those benefits toward paying of your Invisalign treatment.
Six Month Smiles
Now, let’s say you have a few crooked teeth at the front of your mouth and your primary goal is for other people to see straight teeth when you smile or laugh. If this sounds like you, Six Month Smiles is an excellent option. Like the name states, most people have straighter looking smiles in just 6 months.
The treatment works so quickly because these conventional looking braces only adjust your front teeth. Conventional braces have to move all of your teeth, and the front ones are usually the last. That’s why Six Month Smiles gives you fast results that you can count on.
If you’ve narrowed your orthodontic choice down to one or two different kinds of braces, great! If not, we can still help. Schedule your orthodontic evaluation at Marconi Dental Group in Carmichael today for a straighter smile that you can feel proud of.
