Tooth Whitening for Our Carmichael Dental Patients

Tooth whitening can make your teeth whiter!

When a baby’s first tooth pops out to the delight of all, it’s a thing of beauty. Healthy, strong and as white and bright as possible, a new tooth is something to admire.

Fast forward to that same smile years later. After untold cups of chai lattes and triple espresso mochas, not to mention cherries and blueberries and possibly cigarette smoking, even the prettiest teeth can start to look a little drab, or worse than just drab. If you have a good set of teeth and healthy gums, but are still not satisfied with your smile, you are a perfect candidate for the wonderful process of teeth whitening.

As you stand at the dental health section of your local grocery or drug store, you’ll soon realize that they’re putting tooth whitener in everything! Toothpastes, gels, over-the-counter whitening trays, chewing gum, polishing formulas, rinses and more all promise to give you that bright, dazzling smile worthy of a beauty pageant. As a general rule, remember to only purchase products that have the approval seal of the American Dental Association (ADA). At least you can be confident that these products contain relatively safe ingredients, but will they give you the results you are after, noticeably whiter teeth that look healthy and dazzling?

If you want whiter teeth and you want them soon, the place to find yourself is not in the drug store aisle, but in the Marconi Dental Group’s Carmichael office. Here you’ll find real solutions to your yellow or discolored tooth color. Tooth whitening is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that gives you whiter teeth and a younger looking smile, adding confidence to your professional and personal life.

Important Steps Before You Whiten

An appointment with the Marconi Dental Group will take the guesswork out of choosing the best method to whiten your teeth. For the best results possible, you want to start off with a basic dental cleaning that removes heavy plaque or tartar buildup. That ensures that the whitening agents are able to be effective. Your Carmichael dentist will also examine the general health of your teeth and gums, a vital step when choosing a whitening treatment. Your dentist will also discuss the level of whiteness you want to achieve. Some people want to really go all out and dazzle with the whitest teeth, while others may be more comfortable with a subtle change.

The Recommended Tooth Whitening Procedures

If you want your teeth whiter for an upcoming event such as a wedding, prom, job interview or reunion, an in-office procedure offers the maximum strength with immediate results and requires about an hour. You may have seen this method on TV makeover programs. The “before and after” is quite amazing when separated by just one short hour in the dental office!

Another easy and effective way to whiten your teeth is the custom tray method. Using fit-for-you trays that keep whitening materials in contact with your teeth, you’ll see results in seven to twelve days. Using custom whitening trays is much healthier and safer than over-the-counter trays because the whitening material stays on your teeth and off your gums. Because they are made specifically for you, these trays can be used for future periodic maintenance to keep your smile bright and healthy looking.

A combination method of in-office whitening and at-home use of trays and whitening solutions is the most effective treatment and the one recommended by the Marconi Dental Group. Whatever method you choose, we are confident you’ll be happy with the results – a whiter, brighter smile that says good-bye drab, hello fab!

I have found myself in the toothpaste aisle of the grocery store looking at whitening products and it’s overwhelming to see how many there are! After seeing how expensive some of them are, I’d rather go to the pros and get the best results. More bang for the buck!
