Are you looking for a way to straighten the teeth toward the front of your mouth? Conventional braces address your entire bite. This requires slow and systematic movements until the entire arch is aligned. In some cases, the front teeth might be the very last ones to be straightened. What if you could straighten your front teeth — and only your front teeth? You can, with Six Month Smiles.
The Six Month Smiles Difference
With Six Month Smiles, Dr. Alizadeh moves only your front teeth. That way, the part of your smile that is most important to your appearance is addressed first and foremost.
Six Month Smiles are cosmetic braces. They improve the way your smile looks when you talk, laugh, or pose for pictures. They don’t change the biting relationship of your back teeth.
Since these accelerated or “fast” braces only address certain teeth, the results take far less time to achieve. All movements are solely focused on a limited number of teeth, which prevents you from having to wait on other ones to be moved to progress your overall alignment. In most cases, patients at Marconi Dental Group in Sacramento see full results in about six months. Many see a significant improvement in just a couple of months.
What are Accelerated Braces Good for?
“Fast” or accelerated braces like Six Month Smiles are typically recommended for people with:
- Healthy smiles free of gum disease (periodontitis) or tooth decay
- A fairly healthy bite relationship between the upper and lower jaws
- Concerns regarding the position and appearance of their front teeth
- Front teeth that are gapped, crooked, crowded, jetted out, or rotated
When Would They Not be Appropriate?
In certain situations, Six Month Smiles would not be the most appropriate type of treatment for your cosmetic or functional bite needs. Some examples might include crossbites, TMJ disorder, underbites, and open bites. Complex bite alignment problems such as these are better addressed with conventional braces.
Six Month Smiles in Sacramento
Marconi Dental Group is happy to offer Six Month Smiles as one of our orthodontic options in our Sacramento office. Dr. Alizadeh will meet with you at your consultation to assess your bite, discuss your primary concerns with you, and determine if accelerated orthodontics is best for your needs.
The Treatment Process for Fast or Accelerated Braces
Once you’re ready to get started, we’ll take a series of images and impressions, then arrange a time to have your braces put on. After that, you’ll only need around a 20-minute visit with us every four to six weeks. When your treatment is completed about six months later, Dr. Alizadeh will make a retainer for you to wear at night to retain your tooth positioning. All you need to do is keep brushing, flossing, and scheduling routine checkups to keep your smile healthy!
